Over the past few years, I’ve had conversations with many writers who tell me that they’re too busy writing to worry about creating an Internet presence. But I say that writers have been given a gift with this new age of social media.

From the rented veranda, Sasha squinted into the sun, noting its midday strength and counting the number of sailboats leaving the harbor. One after another set sail, reminding her of how bound she was to the computer sitting on her lap.

A lot of people start a blog because they have something amazing to say. But once they say it, many of these bloggers start to add posts just for the sake of posting.

There’s that moment between knowing you should do something, and taking the first step to actually doing it – one instant to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to moving forward. I often find myself in this kind of quandary.

Writing is a business. This truth is not always clear to those born with natural talent and who enjoy the creative experience. In many cases, writers don’t want to admit that organization and strategy play a role in the life of a writer.

When I first heard about Twitter I couldn’t help but ask, “What’s the point?” At the time, no one had a good enough answer. It didn’t make sense to write a series of messages only 140 characters long, nor did it appear to be a productive use of time.

I must admit, the writing snob in me was anti-blogging for several years. I didn’t like the idea that everyone had a platform to write, whether they made sense with their words or not, and whether they used good grammar or totally botched the English language.

Hi Jamee Rae,
I'm Jerome and I am following you on twitter. Basically I am very happy to read your tweets as they are very useful and it make sense. I am writing concerning "Conduct an employee survey and ask what the company's mission is. You might learn that your marketing dollars should be spent internally." I totally agree about this and this is what Rimaco (www.rimaco.biz) call it internal marketing.
For our company internal marketing is the essence of marketing, branding and company culture and most of our clients don't get the point why should they have to invest internally than externally. We believe that internal branding / marketing is the essential tool to master for a proper brand or marketing strategy to work.
Thanks for keeping us informed of what's happening in the world.
Regards
J
